High nutrient addition of different intensities alters plankton composition and the biotic relationships among plankton species

Use case title (contact person)
High nutrient addition of different intensities alters plankton composition and the biotic relationships among plankton species (Dr. Ioulia Santi, IO, HCMR)

In-brief: description the analysis that was carried out
18S and 16S metabarcoding analyses were performed to study the effect of high nutrient quantity on bacterioplankton and microbial eukaryotic plankton in a mesocosm experiment.

In brief: description of the pertinent project
The specific effects of high dissolved nutrient quantities on microbial plankton were investigated in an attempt to approach nutrient disturbances caused by severe climate phenomena. Two nutrient levels were applied by the addition of different quantities of dissolved nutrients in a mesocosm experiment. Metabarcoding analyses were applied to study the compositional changes of bacteria and microbial eukaryote communities.

Comments on how the cluster supported this work
The were about 1.5 million raw sequence reads, from 27 samples. A series of bioinformatic tools were used, such as AmpliconNoise, OBITools and SWARM v2 algorithm.
